What is round sling

Round sling is a category of lifting slings employed in material handling and lifting operations. These slings are pliable and commonly crafted from synthetic materials like polyester or nylon. The designation “round sling” is derived from their tubular or cylindrical shape.

Structure

Our round slings are constructed with internal load-bearing strands and a protective cover. These slings are fabricated using 100% high-tenacity polyester yarn, wound in a continuous hank to create an endless sling for the core. The exterior of the round slings consists of a robust 100% polyester tubular sleeve, providing protection to the inner strands. These slings are soft, flexible, and an excellent choice if you need to choke the load.

Types of round sling

Endless round slings and eye & eye round slings exhibit remarkable similarity, featuring identical rated capacities, compatibility with all sling types, and a standardized color-coded jacket system.

ENDLESS

An endless round sling design is essentially a single, continuous loop. One advantage of this configuration is that the wear points can be adjusted with each use, contributing to the prolonged working life of the sling.

EYE & EYE

Eye & eye lift slings are crafted by affixing a wear pad to both ends of the sling, forming loop eyes on each side.

What is round sling used for?

Towing and Recovery: In container lifting, opt for Blue and Orange Round Polyester Slings. For pulling applications, use Yellow and Green slings by threading them through the wheel rims. Purple slings are suitable for lighter lifting tasks.

Construction: Choose round slings over chain slings in construction as they are lighter, reducing the risk of injuries to construction workers and riggers, including back injuries.

Marine: Opt for round slings for boat lifting as an excellent alternative to nylon or polyester web slings. The low stretch allows for enhanced load control, and the soft material prevents scratches or damage to the load surface.
